Mizuno Infinity Time Trials

It was a very beautiful Sunday when I ran my very first 5k at the Mizuno Infinity Time Trials at The Fort. It was a more challenging one because of the heat, as opposed to the drizzle the Sunday last. There were a lot of runners. I felt intimidated. I thought, I might finish last again (among my friends). They've been running for quite a few times already. But still, it's no excuse to be left behind. I need to get my endurance improved or I'll really be left behind yet again.

I almost blacked out right before I get to drink at the first water station, about 2kms from the starting line. Water felt like a burst of energy. I know now that I need to drink water right before the gun shot.

Whenever a runner runs past me, I get conscious. Was I really running too slow? Or worst, walking too slow? Haha! I was practically walking almost half the run. I can't help it. It is just too tiring! And I am amazed at others who can run without even resting. I was like, "Why are they even on the 5k category anyway?!". They should be running on the 15k! But I'll take this as a challenge. I need to improve my minutes. I was really amazed at this one older lady (in her sixties I think) who clocked in at almost the same time as mine. Great work I say.

The results are out here. My clock in was 44 minutes and 53 seconds. That needs to go DOWN.

Of course, with all the energy that was drained out of our heads, err body, we headed to McDonalds for breakfast. Hey it's still safe to eat carbs 45 minutes after the race, so just bring on the fries! Haha!

With the whole gang.

I will be joining the PTAA-organized run this coming Sunday at the UP Diliman grounds. Good luck to me!
