photo-editing class

I've just registered to Jessica Sprague's FREE online photo-editing class!!!

Registration starts today until the 28th so be sure to register yourself. The two-week long class will start on July 6th. Click on the photo to be directed to Jessica's site to learn much much more about this class.
I am still new to photo-editing so this class really fits me. It'll be great to be able to widen my knowledge in Photoshop. Especially that I have quite a collection of frames and brushes that I have accumulated from sites offering free or cheap digital stuff. Another cool thing about this class is that, there are freebies! Cheap thrills. =)
What are you waiting for, register now!

pip

PIP as in Page in Progress to you nonscrapbookers!

I've done this a week already but I can't seem to finish it yet. Coz I forgot what building this is! This is one of those tourist spots we visited in KL. I have yet to search for the name of the building.

This will go to my KL&SG album. A long way to go before I finish it.

a new paper rack

I've been planning to organize my paper supplies for the longest time. Before, I use the 13x13 pizza boxes I've collected from orders in Australia to store my papers and other bigger stickers or rub-ons. It was such a drag to choose and use my papers then. I often end up using just cardstock or the first paper I saw on the first box nearest me when I create.

Then I saw this Karen Foster Design paper keeper at Lasting Impression and bought one.

It can hold more than 300 papers. I put all my papers and cardstock here. But I still found myself in such a drag to look for the paper I need. You see, I store them according to manufacturer in alphabetical order. But with that way, I often forgot what design I have from a certain manufacturer.

So after reading from magazines and books on how to effectively organize paper supplies, I finally realized what would work best for me. To store them according to style or design. So when I saw a paper rack at Handyman TriNoma, I didn't think twice and bought it right away, even with a hefty price.

This rack has six levels that can hold more than 150 sheets of paper each level. Quite big and heavy if you ask me. But still an itsy bitsy compared to other scrapbookers' paper rack! Here it is with all the papers in it.

On a different scrapping note, I searched the web and found some very pretty scrapbook rooms! My dream room...

So many papers!

Love the colors and the clean look.

This is definitely my favorite, red themed.

I wonder when will my scrap space get bigger like these...

5k at UP Diliman

What a run that was! I was so disappointed with myself. I finished the 5k run at 45 minutes and 35 seconds. Just a mere minute shy of my last 5k at The Fort last week. The terrain at UP Diliman is harder than at The Fort. But definitely better because of the fresh air thanks to the abundant trees around the campus. Even though I didn't get to shorten my time, I still liked my run that Sunday. It was more exhilarating and tiring but equally fun. More fun that I get to spend more time with my best buds too! The best part is the post-run breakfast at McDonald's.

This PTAA-organized charity event was one with lots of raffle prizes. Since a lot of travel agencies donated free airline tickets and vacation packages all over the country, we stayed on for the drawing. And I won! One gift certificate for a 2-night stay for 2 at Patio Pacific in Boracay. Yey!!!

No marathon for next Sunday but we are planning to run around a vacant neighborhood near our village. No time to rest!

Mizuno Infinity Time Trials

It was a very beautiful Sunday when I ran my very first 5k at the Mizuno Infinity Time Trials at The Fort. It was a more challenging one because of the heat, as opposed to the drizzle the Sunday last. There were a lot of runners. I felt intimidated. I thought, I might finish last again (among my friends). They've been running for quite a few times already. But still, it's no excuse to be left behind. I need to get my endurance improved or I'll really be left behind yet again.

I almost blacked out right before I get to drink at the first water station, about 2kms from the starting line. Water felt like a burst of energy. I know now that I need to drink water right before the gun shot.

Whenever a runner runs past me, I get conscious. Was I really running too slow? Or worst, walking too slow? Haha! I was practically walking almost half the run. I can't help it. It is just too tiring! And I am amazed at others who can run without even resting. I was like, "Why are they even on the 5k category anyway?!". They should be running on the 15k! But I'll take this as a challenge. I need to improve my minutes. I was really amazed at this one older lady (in her sixties I think) who clocked in at almost the same time as mine. Great work I say.

The results are out here. My clock in was 44 minutes and 53 seconds. That needs to go DOWN.

Of course, with all the energy that was drained out of our heads, err body, we headed to McDonalds for breakfast. Hey it's still safe to eat carbs 45 minutes after the race, so just bring on the fries! Haha!

With the whole gang.

I will be joining the PTAA-organized run this coming Sunday at the UP Diliman grounds. Good luck to me!

I came. I saw...

But I don't think I conquered yesterday's Earth Run Marathon 2009. I wasn't in top shape. I get tired easily {due mainly to too much stored fat, yikes!}. And worst, my right shoe finally collapsed in the middle of my 3K run.

We weren't sure at first if the marathon will push through since it was raining hard since Friday night. But I just learned that even if it's raining, marathons won't be cancelled. I thought, it's better than the scorching heat, right? So we woke up as early as 3:30am Sunday morning. And arrived at the venue, McKinley Hill at the Fort Bonifacio area around 5:30am. The start of the run was supposed to be 5:30am sharp but there was some delay, good for us, that the run started at exactly 6:00am instead. We just got our jerseys and numbers right there since we were one of the last ones who registered so our jerseys and numbers weren't delivered to us anymore.

It was drizzling when the run started. I was with my friends, Jenny, Ryan and Sandra, but they eventually outrun me. Haha. Blame it on the fats! Darn those fats! And my shoes. There were a lot of first timers just like us. There was one wearing a Zorro-like outfit {betting on the Most Fashionable Finisher given by Etc., I guess}, who later on threw up in the middle of the run. It was definitely a very tiring activity! My calves hurt a lot and I can't even catch my breath on my 2nd kilometer. Good thing water stations are located every 2 kms. I was about to sprint after the 2km mark, but my right shoe broke. The soles separated from the shoe! So I just walked until the finish line. I even lost my marker. I almost didn't finish officially.

All in all, I think it was a very very tiring but definitely worth it. You really feel energized and inspired. Until the next run!

On a different but kinda connected note, I finally have a valid excuse to buy new running shoes after using my old one for almost 4 years. I realized you really need a pair of shoes that is built for running or you're sure it won't last long. Since I plan to go on marathons often, I invested in a good running shoes yesterday. It was hard for me to choose between Nike and New Balance. Substance over form {New Balance}? Or form over substance {Nike}? In the end, since I couldn't find a good enough New Balance, I chose a Nike Bowerman series running shoes. I like that the color is gray with a bit of pink. =)

Register for this Sunday's run at any Mizuno store! Fee is {only} 300 bucks.

bad-ass bowler slr bag

I want this!!!! Saw it on Photojojo and I'm in love. I hope there's one on ebay.

Lugging my black and boring camera bag around is just so lame. Especially when I'm in the mall. I gotta have this.

ebay is so addicting

I've been so addicted to ebay lately. You win once, and next thing you know, you're watching another item again. I don't know why, but ebay is just so addicting! Especially if you won a very pretty bag you won't find in the malls with a very affordable price. Like this Victoria Secret logo bag here. Lovin' it. So roomy and so elegant.

Or this white XoXo bag. I really needed a white bag.

Or this Lacoste shopper's bag. Love the color. Olive-military green.

I have to consciously stop myself from browsing ebay coz if not, I'd end up looking at shoes next. Which I did. Haha. These Jessica Simpson flats are so pretty I just couldn't stop thinking about it. The listing (it's a Buy Now) already ended but because no one bought it and got listed again, I ended up clicking Buy Now. =)

Love the gingham design.
Plus, it's black, it goes with everything.
From tights, to dresses, to skirts, to skinny pants.

Oh the treasures you'll find on ebay...
